Summerween is officially here! Therefore, I'll be sharing some spooky events taking place this summer to kick off your haunting celebrations. From midnight markets to a Black Sabbath weekender, there is a huge variety of events taking place this Summerween to please every type of goblin or ghoul.
Edinburgh Midnight Markets - 29th June and 10th July
If you’re in Edinburgh, be sure to check out the Midnight Solar Market on the 29th of June at Assembly Roxy. Alternatively, the Midnight Lunar Market, an alternative night market held in conjunction with the full moon takes place between 5pm and midnight on the 10th of July at the Le Monde Hotel.
Gasp Horror Film Festival, Manchester - 27th-29th June
Gasp Horror Film Festival at Cultplex in Manchester takes places between the 27th and the 29th June; this event is perfect for horror film fans who want to feast their eyes on some new material.
Leeds Festival of Gothica - 5th July
Leeds Festival of Gothica is back on the 5th July at Leeds Kirkgate Market. It’s an alternative market with over 120 stalls featuring curious items, clothing, spooky antiques, art, jewellery, homeware, and much more. It’s also free to enter, so if that’s not a good reason to go, I don’t know what is.
Witches Coven at the Hocus Pocus Tiny Hotel, York - 28th June
The Hocus Pocus Tiny Hotel in York is holding a Witches Coven Event to celebrate their three year anniversary, which takes place on 28th June at 6pm.
Liverpool Horror Club Summerween Market - 29th June
On the 29th June, Liverpool Horror Club is hosting it’s Summerween Horror Market at the Liner Hotel between 1pm and 6pm. This one is also free entry!
Nocturnal Night Market, Bristol - 6th July
The Nocturnal Night Market is being held at the Crown Bar in Bristol on the 6th of July, and again features an array of spooky vendors. The event takes place in the evening making it an even spookier experience!
Find Your Coven, Bristol - 11th July
The Haunted Bookshop hosts an array of mystical events throughout the year. On Friday the 11th of July, they’re holding a ‘Find Your Coven’ event, which is basically a networking event for witches and warlocks. Whether you’re just starting out, or a seasoned, well-practiced witch, this event provides the opportunity to connect, commune, and make new friends!
Black Sabbath Weekender, Birmingham - 5th July
Merlins Cafe Bar in Birmingham is holding various events this summer, including a Black Sabbath weekender, where they are streaming the big performance straight from Villa Park, which is the perfect alternative if you can’t make the gig. It kicks off from 11am and is free to enter.
Monthly Alternative Markets, Birmingham - every first Sunday of the month
The Auld Omens alternative market is also being held at Merlin’s every first Sunday of the month between noon and 6pm.
